For Shamane Grant, AMDH Weddings, Events & Décor is an extension of the things she values most, faith, family, love, culture, creativity, service and bringing people together.

A Christian, wife, mother of four, proud grandmother and sister, Shamane comes from a large Guyanese family and is the youngest of 13 children. Growing up surrounded by family taught her that life’s most meaningful moments are often the ones we share, with generations gathered together, stories being told, food being passed around, music playing, laughter filling the room and memories being created.

Family is so deeply connected to Shamane’s vision that it is woven into the very name of her company.

AMDH was inspired by the initials of her four children.

For Shamane, that makes the name AMDH Weddings, Events & Décor deeply personal, a daily reminder of why she builds, creates and dreams: family, legacy and the generations that come after us.

An International Event and Wedding Planning Professional™ and Accredited Event Designer, Shamane has spent more than 20 years turning other people's most important days into rooms they never forget.

She works closely with every couple and family from the first conversation through to the final candle being lit, listening first, designing second, and treating each celebration as if it were her own family's.

Shamane’s family today is beautifully multicultural and multigenerational, with Guyanese, Hispanic, Caucasian and Canadian-born family members coming together as one.

Living within such a diverse family shaped her belief that people should never have to leave their identity at the door in order to have a beautiful celebration.

That belief is reflected in AMDH’s commitment to diversity, inclusion and cultural respect. Whether two cultures are becoming one family, generations are honouring treasured traditions, or a couple is creating new traditions of their own, Shamane wants every client to feel welcomed, heard, respected and represented.

For more than 14 years, Shamane’s family has hosted a large annual family BBQ at the park, typically bringing together approximately 100-150 family members and friends.

People from the surrounding community have heard the music and wandered over. Instead of being treated like outsiders, they were welcomed into the food, music, conversation, laughter and warmth.

Because beautiful gatherings aren’t only about what people see. They’re about how people feel when they’re there.

With more than 20 years of hands-on experience, Shamane combines professional training with creativity, organization, attention to detail and genuine care.

Before choosing the flowers, colours or decor, Shamane wants to understand the people.

Behind every beautifully dressed table are people who will sit around it. Behind every wedding are two people beginning a new chapter. Behind every reception are families coming together.

Behind every birthday, shower, anniversary or milestone is a story worth celebrating, and behind the photographs are memories that may one day be shown to children and grandchildren who weren’t even there when they were created.
